  BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Regal Enterprises was established in 1992 by Ian and Allan Farley,
  both of whom had
entered the toy soldier industry in 1982 and 1984 respectively.
The production of their 54mm hand-painted, full-gloss metal figures
was initially carried out in a small garden shed in their parents’ back
  yard.

Both Ian and Allan were born and bred in Greytown - fourth generation
on their father’s side, and have direct family connections dating back
almost to the towns founding in 1854 through their great-great-
  grandfather Samuel Oates.
Samuel is famous for his epic 1856 trek from Wellington to the
Wairarapa pushing a wheel-barrow, laden with, amongst other items,
a dozen gum tree saplings for delivery to C.R. Carter’s property at
  Parkvale near Carterton.
Three of the saplings were removed during a brief halt in Greytown and
subsequently came to light planted around the town.
The sole survivor can still be seen flourishing in the grounds of St.
Luke’s Church on Greytown’s Main Street.

SOLDIERS OF THE WORLD are now available from Regal for
collectors in New Zealand, Australia, United Kingdom and Europe.
Keep a look out for new additions.  All sets will be painted to order.
  North American Collectors please contact
  www.thetoysoldiergallery.com and www.stockademiniatures.com

The types of figures produced reflect both Ian and Allan’s interests
with a strong emphasis on New Zealand themes.
Both brothers are involved in the research and development of new
sets, with Ian having sculpted the majority of figures so far.

2001 has seen the introduction of a small range of Victorian figures
to cater for the collector with an interest in non-military items.
These new figures have proven to be very popular and new additions
will be introduced at regular intervals.
